Data Connector is a hosted remote MCP server for working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and data files through compatible AI clients. Connect PostgreSQL or MySQL directly, or import a CSV, Parquet, or SQLite file. Your client can then discover what is available and run bounded read-only queries.
Data Connector is operated by Loam, a product of Ship It! Software Limited. Loam provides the underlying identity, authorization, regional data infrastructure, and billing systems. Data Connector is the customer-facing product for this workflow.
Current scope
The current release provides direct live PostgreSQL and MySQL access, plus tables imported from CSV, Parquet, and SQLite files. Data Connector provides read-only access to those sources; it does not expose sync tools, unsupported live database engines, arbitrary SaaS sources, ETL, or unrestricted SQL access.
Data Connector works with compatible remote Streamable HTTP and OAuth MCP clients. Claude is one example, with a dedicated setup guide. Mention of a client does not imply its maker approves, sponsors, or partners with Data Connector.
